AMV Contest

The Tomodachi Fest Anime Music Video Contest is a chance for fans to showcase their creative talents in the form of making anime music videos to their favorite anime show(s). The Tomodachi Fest Anime Music Video Contest is open to anyone to enter as long as the rules below are followed. The contest will be screened in front of a live audience at Tomodachi Fest November 26th, 2010.

There will be $300 total in cash prizes for the Tomodachi Fest Anime Music Video competition.
Audience/Fan Favorite will receive $200,
Best Comedy/Parody will receive $25,
Best Drama will receive $25,
Best Action/Adventure will receive $25,
and Tomodachi Fest Judge's Favorite will receive $25.

Rules:

1. In order to enter the Tomodachi Fest Anime Music Video Contest you must purchase or owned one of the following badge types, 3-Day Adult, 3-Day Youth, 1-Day Adult, 1-Day Youth, Lifetime, Dealers, Complimentary (0-6 years old and 55+).

2. The AMV(s) must be created by you! Do not enter in other people's AMV(s) which they work hard to make. This will be grounds for immediate disqualification and you can be banned from entering AMV(s) from any future Tomodachi Fest AMV contest.

3. We require that all Tomodachi Fest AMV entries/contestants to check in with the AMV Contest Director before the AMV contest begins. Failure to check in before the contest begins will result in disqualification for any prizes. If for some reason you cannot make this deadline, you must make prior arrangements with AMV Contest Director.

4. All entries, regardless of submission format, become the physical property of Tomodachi Fest and will not be returned to the creator(s). So send in the best copy you can, but do not send us your original masters (USB Thumb Drives will be return to rightful owner(s) at the convention upon request).

5. While you retain ownership and all rights and privileges regarding your AMV(s). By submitting your video to this contest you affirm and agree to grant Tomodachi Fest an unconditional license to publish, reproduce, distribute, and otherwise utilize your submission without restriction, in entirety or in part, in print, on the internet, in exhibitions, advertising, media or wherever may be deemed necessary for promotional purposes.

6. The 5 categories listed below are the Tomodachi Fest Anime music video categories, which have been separated accordingly by those who will be judging the entered music videos.

(Best Comedy/Parody) Entries into this category compete to show the most humorous AMV.

(Best Drama) Entries into this category compete to show the AMV with the strongest emotional impact.

(Action/Adventure) Entries into this category compete to show the best action packed, adrenaline filled AMV.

(Tomodachi Fest Judge's Favorite) The entry the Tomodachi Fest Judge's like the most.

(Audience/Fan Favorite) The AMV that was the audience favorite.

7. You may enter up to no more than 3 videos to this contest.

8. There is a 7 minute set time limit for length of any video.

9. Please attempt to keep your AMV(s) in the standard TV PG-13 viewing. Videos may not include any scenes of extreme graphic violence’s or sexual content.

10. Each video submitted must contain at least 80% of anime footage. Any video that falls below this rate will be disqualified.

11. Each video must contain at least 75% music to video footage. Any video that falls below this rate will be disqualified.

12. We only except Film submissions in the following Video File Formats: MPEG, WMV, AVI, MKV, etc… on CD-R & DVD -R/+R or USB Thumb Drive. (USB Thumb Drives will be return to rightful owner(s) at the convention upon request) We will no longer accept E-mailed Entries, VCD, S-VCD, VHS or S-VHS. If you wish to submit video in any other format please contact us.

13. Special seating arrangements will be made for attending editors

14. Tomodachi Fest reserves the right to disqualify any person for (1) violating any of these rules, (2) tampering with the entry process, (3) gaining an unfair advantage in participating in or engaging in otherwise un-sportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing, or threatening behavior.

15. Tomodachi Fest and its judging methods are final; prizes will be awarded only to those in attendance at the convention and are present when prizes are given out.

16. All rules, prizes and methods of judging for the Tomodachi Fest Anime Music Video Contest are subject to change without notice. While we will attempt to keep you abreast of any changes with the Tomodachi Fest website, these changes may occur at any time!

17. The Anime Music Video Contest is scheduled to take place Friday evening November 26th, Judging will be conducted via voting and ballot and the winner announcements will be made during award ceremony which will conclude the event.

18. All mailed entries must be, submitted with the Tomodachi Fest Anime Music Contest Entry Form and be in the hands of the AMV Staff by midnight of October 27th, 2010! If for some reason you cannot make this deadline, you must make prior arrangements with the Tomodachi Fest staff before this date or your entry will not qualify.

USPS, Fed-EX and UPS packages are all accepted. DO NOT send a package with signature required. If you do, your package may not be delivered by the deadline if no one is there to sign for it.
